Will solar work on my home or business?
  • Solar panels can be installed on almost any type of roofing material. It can also be mounted on a flat roof or on the ground on a rail type system.
How much electricity will my solar system save me?
  • It depends on the size of the system you select. A solar system can generate a small percentage of the electricity you require, all of it, or anything in between. Your savings will also depend on your utility rates and positioning of your system.
Will the solar system work with my current electrical service provider?
  • Yes! Solar systems are designed to work seamlessly with your utility power. The system will automatically send any excess electricity generated by the system to the utility for a credit, and buy it back whenever you need more than you are producing. The utility will install a new electronic meter to register and calculate your "net metering".
Do solar panels work during a power outage?
  • No, during any type of outage or black out, the system will automatically shut down unless you have a battery system to power the inverter and your essential load requirements. Once the utility power is restored the inverter automatically restarts. This shut down is required by law for the safety of the utility workers.
Do solar panels work in cloudy weather and at night?
  • Solar panels work in cloudy weather though they produce less electricity. Since solar technology requires sunlight, your utility company will supply your electricity at night.
What about extreme wind, weather or snow?
  • Solar panels are very durable. They are individually tested, certified to UL standards, and are built to withstand winds above 100 mph. Snow typically melts off the panels due to the reflectance and the pitch of the panels.
How much does a solar system cost?
  • The cost of a solar system ranges from $15,000 to $30,000 depending on the size of your system. System costs vary per project.  The price includes installation, permitting and all applicable State incentives.
How long will it take to install the solar system?
  • It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for the State to process your solar rebate application. The actual installation usually takes 3 or more days depending on system size.
