HOW SOLAR POOL HEATING WORKS
Solar pool heating is a very simple process. Only solar collectors and piping are needed to complete the system.
Your pool is used as the storage tank, and in most cases your existing pool pump is used.
- Filtered pool water is pumped from your pool to the solar collectors which function much like a garden hose left lying in the sun. Just like the water inside the hose, the pool water passing through the tubes of the specially designed solar collector panels is heated by the sun.
- The heated water is returned to the pool (through the automatic chlorinator if there is one). The process continues until the pool reaches your chosen temperature.
- Automatic controls may be used to direct the flow of the water. A roof solar sensor will work out if there’s enough solar energy to heat the pool; if the pool is below the selected temperature, water will be pumped through the collectors.
- Bright sunshine is not necessary for your system to work. On cloudy days and in hazy conditions there is usually sufficient solar energy for the system to provide the required amount of heat.
- A manual bypass valve may be used instead of automatic controls.
Your equipment is produced by one of the largest solar pool heating manufacturers in the world. We selected it for a number of reasons:
- It is extremely efficient.
Your pool will be heated using the same precision technology that heated the 50meter-competition pool at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, keeping it at the very strict Olympic regulation temperature.
- It has a track record of reliability.
It won’t let you down.
- It’s durable.
It functions in all climates, even the Swiss Alps and Northern Canada, and it withstands extreme weather conditions.
- It’s made to last.
Your equipment is covered by the industry’s best warranty, by a manufacturer who has been in business since 1977 and will be there to stand behind it. The full 12-year warranty covers all components, labor and freeze protection, a limited warranty covers the expected lifespan of 15 to 20 years.
