| Technology Used: |
DC photovoltaic (PV) system using Sharp 216w modules and Xantrex inverters. |
| Implementation Highlights: |
Challenged with limited roof space, Vanguard Energy Partners designed a canopy structure over the plant's aeration tanks. When operating at full output, the PV system will provide nearly 40 percent of the wastewater treatment plant's electricity needs. The estimated first year production is approximately 364,742 kWh of energy, which is equivalent to the avoided emissions of 577,489 lbs. of
CO2. This is comparable to taking 48 cars off
of the road or conserving 29,733 gallons of
gasoline or conserving 609 barrels of oil
annually.
